Information we collect

Information you give us

Orders: your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, the products you buy, and any notes you add to your order.
Payment details: you enter your card details at checkout, and our payment processor handles them. We don't see or store your full card number.
Account: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
Email list: your email address and the date you signed up.
Messages: what you send us when you email us, call us or use our contact form.

Information collected automatically

When you use our site, we, Shopify and our service providers collect information about your device and how you use the site. This includes your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, the products you add to your cart, how you got to our site, and an approximate location based on your IP address. Most of it is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).

Information from others

our payment processor tells us whether a payment went through and gives us fraud-check results.
shipping carriers give us delivery and tracking updates.

to process, ship and deliver your orders, and to handle returns, replacements and order questions.
to send order confirmations, shipping updates and other messages about your purchase.

How we share your information

We don't sell your personal information for money. We share it only with:

Shopify, which hosts our online store and processes order data for us. Shopify's privacy policy is at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
Our payment processors (such as Shopify Payments or Authorize.net), to process your payment and check for fraud.
Shipping carriers such as USPS, UPS and FedEx, so they can deliver your order.
Email service providers, if we use one to send our marketing emails.
Analytics and advertising partners, including Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (the Meta Pixel, for Facebook and Instagram), to measure site traffic, understand how people use the site, and show and measure our ads. Professional advisers, such as our accountants and lawyers, when needed.
Authorities or others, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
A buyer or successor, if our business or its assets are sold, merged or transferred.

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores. Our store uses cookies that Shopify needs to run the site, such as keeping items in your cart and processing checkout. Shopify lists them at shopify.com/legal/cookies. We and our partners, including Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, also use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising. Where required, we ask for your consent first.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site, such as the cart and checkout, may stop working.

Email marketing

If you join our email list, we'll send you news, recipes and offers. We may use an email service provider to send these emails. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or you can email info@cocktailcrate.com and we'll remove you. We'll still send you messages about orders you place.

How long we keep information

We keep order and transaction records for as long as we need them for tax, accounting and legal purposes. We keep other information for as long as it's needed for the purposes in this policy, or until you ask us to delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.

How we protect information

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, and payments go through processors that meet card-industry security standards (PCI DSS). No website or online service is completely secure, so we can't guarantee the security of your information.

Children

Our site is meant for adults and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your US state privacy rights

Depending on the state you live in (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states with consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to:

know and access: ask what personal information we have about you and get a copy of it.
correct: ask us to fix information that's wrong.
delete: ask us to delete your personal information, subject to exceptions such as order records we must keep.
opt out: opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, or its use for targeted advertising, as those terms are defined in your state's law. Our use of advertising cookies and pixels, such as the Meta Pixel, may count as "selling," "sharing" or targeted advertising under these laws.
appeal: if we decline your request, ask us to reconsider.

To make a request, email info@cocktailcrate.com or call 231-922-8292. We'll need to verify your identity, usually by matching the email address and order details we already have. You can use an authorized agent to make a request for you; we may ask for proof that the agent is authorized. We'll respond within the time your state's law requires, usually 45 days.

To opt out of targeted advertising, use the "Your Privacy Choices" link at the bottom of our site, or turn on Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, and we'll treat it as an opt-out for that browser.

We won't treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Where we operate

Cocktail Crate is based in Michigan, and our store is for customers in the United States. Your information is processed and stored in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top.
